Modern Minnow Kitchen

This 1960s lakehouse offered breathtaking views but a kitchen that failed to celebrate them. Our goal was to modernize the layout, strengthen the connection to the outdoors, and refresh the space while honoring the home’s mid-century character. By opening the kitchen to natural light and unobstructed lake views, the room now feels brighter, more welcoming, and far more connected to its surroundings.

Removing the outdated pantry and relocating the refrigerator allowed us to introduce a large quartz-topped island that now serves as the hub for prep, dining, and storage. Floating shelves and vertically stacked tile replace upper cabinets, visually lifting the ceiling and introducing a subtle mid-century pattern. Deep blue-green cabinetry grounds the design, balanced by warm wood tones and durable finishes chosen for both comfort and longevity—creating a kitchen that feels relaxed, elevated, and perfectly suited for lakeside living.

Shop the look from this lakehouse kitchen remodel. From the quartz island and floating shelves to the cabinetry, lighting, and thoughtfully layered finishes, we’ve linked the details that bring this fresh, mid-century inspired space to life — all available on our LTK page. Shop Today.
